Chairman Mao Statue in Hunan This giant Chairman Mao statue located at the head of Orange Island in Changsha, Hunan is 32 meters high, 83 meters long, 41 meters wide, and has a base of 3,500 square meters. It is made up of more than 8,000 pieces of Yongding red granite from the mountains of Fujian. It is based on the image of the great man in his youth in 1925, symbolizing the eternal stability of the country and the ambition of the great man in his youth.

This sculpture is based on the Statue of Liberty in the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris, France, and was completed by the famous French sculptor Bartholdi in 10 years.
